UNIX Technical Specialist
PARSEC Group, Inc., a national training and consulting company since 1986, is seeking a highly motivated professional with an extensive background
in at least two of the following operating systems HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, Tru64 or Linux for a full-time position in Denver, Colorado.
Job Description
The UNIX Technical Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support, consulting and training services to PARSEC's customers around the
UNIX and UNIX like operating systems. The UNIX technical Specialist is a full-time position at our Denver, CO office but may require up to 10% travel to
deliver on-site training or consulting services to customers that are out-side of the Denver area and possibly the United States.
Requirements
- Candidates must be local to Denver, CO metro area or willing to relocate.
- Must be available after-hours (on-call) for any support issues that our clients may have.
- Must be very comfortable teaching both locally and at customer locations worldwide.
Required Education and Experience
- B.S. in Computer Science or relevant work experience. Minimum 5 years of experience and expert level proficiency in the UNIX operating
systems working with complex server environments.
- Must be very knowledgeable in the administration of UNIX operating systems, and must be able to effectively troubleshoot and communicate
problems over the phone.
Required Technical Skills
- Extensive administration and engineering experience with two or more of the following: HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, Tru64 or Linux
- Kernel tuning two or more of the following: HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, Tru64, or Linux
- Clustering configuration in at least one of the following HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, Tru64 or Linux
- Advanced understanding of Network configuration and services. Ex. OSI model, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, subnetting
- Hardware systems engineering and integration
- In-Depth knowledge of the UNIX tool set. Ex. sed, awk, ksh, du, df….

- Excellent classroom delivery skills
- Ability to create and update training guides and content
- Ability to develop and deliver subject matter expert Webinars

Infrastructure Engineer
PARSEC Group, Inc., a national training and consulting company since 1986, is seeking a highly motivated IT professional with an extensive background in Microsoft operating systems for a full-time position in Denver, Colorado. The ideal candidate will also have professional experience with Linux but it is not a requirement at this time.
Job Description
The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, consulting and training services to PARSEC's customers as well as maintaining our internal Infrastructure. The Infrastructure Engineer is a full-time position at our Denver, CO office but will require travel to our customers in the Denver metro area.
Experience
Proven ability to support at an expert level as well as executive sales success in one or more of the following operating systems is a must Microsoft Server 2003, Microsoft Server 2008, Microsoft Small Business Server and Linux.
Responsibilities
The chosen applicant will:
- Maintain the PARSEC network, infrastrucutre and servers
- Provide consultation and administrative services on-site, over the phone and remotely as needed
- Deliver classroom training
